The AWOS at Glencoe Municipal Airport reported an hour of light rain, however it froze on contact with the ground. A CoCoRaHS observer reported that roadways were covered with Ice in Plato.

Snowfall totals across the county were estimated around 3 to 6 inches. The snow was generally light and fluffy, and fell over a period longer than 24 hours.

The AWOS station at Hutchinson Airport measured a downburst wind gust of 86 mph.

Numerous large trees and power lines down across Hutchinson. Winds speeds estimated to be between 80 to 85 mph based off of a measured wind gust for the Hutchinson Airport AWOS.

CoCoRaHS observers across the county measured 2 to 3 inches of snowfall. The highest snowfall total was 3 inches located 5 miles N of Hutchinson.

Several hours of light freezing rain resulted in accumulations around 0.1 to 0.2 inches of flat ice across the county. Additional snow accumulations around up to 1 inch fell on top of the ice resulted in hazardous travel conditions Saturday into Sunday.

The wind chill dropped to -38 at the MNDOT RWIS site near Silver Lake and -35 at the Hutchinson airport KHCD.

The AWOS located at the Hutchison Municipal Airport recorded an extreme wind chill of -41 degrees.

A downburst blew numerous trees down between Silver Lake and Lester Prairie.

This event is a continuation of the strong thunderstorm that developed into Wright County and traveled into far northeastern McLeod County. Emergency Management reported numerous large limbs and two trees that were brought down by strong wind gusts and blocked roads in Winsted.
