Philadelphia media reported a fatality in Ocean City, NJ, likely caused by rip currents. Shortly after noon on Thursday, a man was pulled from the water unresponsive. The man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His son was injured trying to save him.
A 53 year old drowned while swimming at the beach at Wildwood Crest. This is suspected to be rip current related as the Police Chief described the surf as extremely rough.
Time of event estimated from media reports. 19 Year old man died after he and 3 others encountered a rip current. Two others were rescued and one made it to the shore on his own.
