A spotter 2 miles southeast of Fairfield measured a half inch of snow. A four-vehicle, chain reaction crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Union Center Boulevard. Two persons were killed (indirect) and the highway was shut down for several hours.
A man was struck and killed by lightning while camping.
A woman wandered from her nursing home in Fairfield and succumbed to hypothermia.
Strong winds of 40 to 50 miles per hour were sustained for several hours. A gust to 65 mph was recorded in Trenton. Widespread damage occurred across the region, from trees being blown down on powerlines, to significant crop losses and structural damage.
Several state, county and township roads incurred culvert and/or beam damage. 159 dwellings and one nursing home with damage across county. A stream was out of its banks at the intersection of State Routes 73 and 177. Total estimate of public assistance is 1,465,350.

A report of 6.3 inches of snow was received from northwest of Fairfield. A spotter 3 miles east-northeast of Beckett Ridge measured 6.2 inches, and 6.1 inches was measured by another spotter 4 miles south-southwest of Monroe.
