A two year old boy was swept away from his father's arms into Hickory Creek.
A light coating of ice from freezing drizzle resulted in several accidents across Carter county. Unfortunately, one of the accidents resulted in a fatality. The accident occurred at approximately 7:40 am on US Highway 77, 1.5 miles south of Ardmore.
A wildfire near Wilson killed a woman. The woman died trying to keep the flames from reaching her home. She suffered smoke inhalation which eventually led to a heart attack.
Hot temperatures killed an 83 year old woman after she became disoriented and drove down an oil field service road where she became trapped, eventually succombing to the heat.
