Tornado F3 Tornado
Light freezing rain/drizzle created hazardous travel throughout the county. A one-car accident early on the morning of the 2nd lead to the fatality of a motorist. This accident occurred on State Highway 33 about 4 miles east of Coyle, OK.
A woman drove around a high water sign and her car was subsequently swept off the road into about 10 feet of water. Weather was clear and rains had stopped at time of incident.
Tornado B20 (Payne County portion). On January 10,2001 tornadoes B20 and B21 were combined and will be identified as B20. Tornado B21 no longer exists. See summary at end of May 3rd storm reports for more information.
Cushing Municipal Airport (KCUH) observation. Broadcast media and law enforcement reported a vehicle accident involving a prisoner bus along Oklahoma Highway 33 due to low visibility in dense fog.
