Texas storm history

Four inches of snow was measured in Texhoma along with one quarter inch of freezing rain.

A decaying thunderstorm produced a minor heat burst over Hooker. The temperature increased and dewpoint decreased in conjunction with the severe wind gust.

A likely downburst produced a peak wind gust of 59 mph.

Three vehicles in a 100 yard area had their windows damaged by the wind or flying debris carried by the wind. Multiple tree limbs, with two as large as 8 inches in diameter, were also blown down. This occurred near the campus of Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

A 58 mph wind gust was observed at the mesonet site located eleven miles to the northeast of Eva. This was associated with decaying showers. The temperature and dewpoint readings leading up to the wind gust suggested that a very small heat burst may have occurred as well.

The mesonet site located eleven miles to the northeast of Eva recorded a severe wind gust at 1535 CDT and the final wind gust at 1545 CDT. The peak wind gust was 67mph which occurred at 1540 CDT.

Quarter size hail fell about four miles north of Guymon. It produced damage to the side of a house due to wind driven nature of the hail. In addition, golfball size hail fell in Guymon.

A heat burst occurred around 2030 CDT from decaying thunderstorms. This resulted in a few large tree branches being snapped to the east northeast of Goodwell.

Half dollar to golfball size hail fell across Hardesty.

A 59mph measured gust occurred at the mesonet site located two miles east northeast of Goodwell.

Winds began gusting above 58 mph around 0055CDT and lasted for an hour or two. The peak wind gust of 78 mph at 0125CDT.

Each observation site had multiple high wind gusts ranging from 58 mph to 66 mph.

Multiple ground stations measured high wind gusts, up to 69 mph, intermittently for approximately 8 hours.

Far southern and far eastern parts of the county received around an inch of snow, while the rest of the county observed under an inch.

Snowfall up to one half of an inch fell across the county.
