South Padre Island in Coastal Cameron County recorded temperatures at or below freezing between 10 hours (spanning between 348 AM and 148 PM on the 16th). South Padre Island recorded a minimum temperature of 29F degrees.

A Minimum Wind Chill value of 13F degrees was recorded in USCG SPI and Brazos SPI at 5 AM and 8:18 AM, respectively. The duration of temperatures within the wind chill criteria was anywhere between 11-12 hours.

Rainfall estimated and measured at 0.5 to 1 inch along the Cameron County barrier island knocked down drought levels from Extreme (D3) to Severe (D2) along and south of Public Access #3 southward to Boca Chica Beach.

Extreme (D3) Drought would cover Cameron Island from roughly the Public Access Point 3 through Boca Chica Beach through October 9, before the area of Extreme Drought was trimmed back Severe Drought on the 10th, due to afternoon rains on October 5th.
