There was coastal flooding (water over a bridge) near the De Zavalla Road and Elsbeth Road intersection in the Channelview area. Additionally, the Lower Todville area of Seabrook was subject to widespread coastal flooding.

Coastal tide gauges and NWS storm survey measured generally 3 to 6 feet above MHHW along the western shore of Galveston Bay. The maximum surge was up near the Houston Ship Channel where 5.95 feet above MHHW was measured. A small portion of this was likely due to rainfall/runoff.

Hurricane Nicholas produced several hours of strong tropical storm force sustained winds and gusts. There were numerous power outages and mainly minor damage to some structures and roofs. Some trees downed. The storm also produced minor storm surge flooding.

Several roads were impassable in Seabrook due to storm surge flooding, including Todville Rd, Hammer St, Main St, and 10th St. A fishing pier and kayak launch were damaged in Shoreacres. At Manchester, a maximum water level of 4.58 ft above MHHW was observed.
