Winter Storm Winter Storm
The Buckland AWOS (PABL) reported periodic blizzard conditions throughout the afternoon hours of December 22nd as heavy snowfall occurred. Winds were sustained at 30 mph with the visibility occasionally dropping to 1/4 mile.
Coastal Flood Coastal Flood
Coastal flooding was reported on the northern Seward Peninsula as strong winds pushed water onshore. The village of Deering reported water over the runway and the road to the airport flooded.
Blizzard Blizzard
Blizzard conditions developed during the morning hours at Deering (PADE) and Buckland (PABL) on April 12th. Wind gusts to 64 mph were reported at Deering and to 48 mph at Buckland. These strong winds were accompanied by visibility in blowing snow of less than a quarter of a mile.

Blizzard conditions developed during the early morning hours on March 31st at Buckland (PABL). Wind gusts to 59 mph were reported, accompanied by falling snow. This resulted in blizzard conditions developing. Conditions improved during the evening hours of March 31st.
High Wind High Wind
High winds developed on the morning of the 15th and continued into the afternoon. The Hoodoo Hill RAWS reported gusts as high as 63 mph during the event. The high winds also caused blowing snow; however, the visibility did not drop below a mile at any station.
