A peak gust of 87 mph was recorded at San Augustin Pass. Other peak gusts included 65 mph at the White Sands Missile Range Museum and 58 mph at the White Sands Missile Range Building 1830.
Wider weather episode
A southwest to northeast oriented trough was moving through the region with a strong surface low over eastern New Mexico. West to southwest winds gusted up to 87 mph as the system moved through.
