A peak gust of 77 mph was recorded at San Augustin Pass. Other gusts included 69 mph at the EMRE site on the White Sands Missile Range, 66 mph at Condron Field and 59 mph at the Dripping Springs RAWS site.

A deep upper trough was moving through the Western U.S. with a strong surface low over Southwest New Mexico. A peak gust of 77 mph was recorded with this storm at San Augustin Pass.
