Event narrative
Roughly 8 to 12 inches of snow fell overnight on the 1st, going into the early morning hours on the 2nd of February. More snow moved in a few hours later, but did not appear to contribute significantly to the totals.
Wider weather episode
Late in the evening of February 1 light to moderate snow formed across western and central Missouri. The heavier band of snow set up more in central Missouri, where roughly 6 to 12 inches of snow fell. Within that 6-12 inch band the area around Marshall and Moberly, Missouri and areas to the east received the higher amounts within that range.
