Event narrative

Brush fires grew from 50 acres to around 700 acres in 24 hours from strong thunderstorm wind gusts in the vicinity. On the 27th, the fire on the north end of the island grew to 1,200 acres. By July 4th, the fire had grown to 2,400 acres on the island.
