Bureau of Land Management officials reported a flash flood wave moving down Phipps Wash toward the Escalante River. This is most likely associated with a brief thunderstorm which moved through the area between roughly 11:30 am MST to 12:30 pm MST and produced moderate to heavy rainfall. Event time is based upon report.

Wider weather episode

An active pattern in mid-September resulted in several reports of flash flooding in southern Utah, in addition to some isolated thunderstorm related wind gusts in northern Utah.
