Significant precipitation deficits over the summer months and continuing into fall led to severe drought developing across north central and northeastern Missouri. On October 4th, the drought monitor showed D2 drought building into eastern Randolph County, with this expanding further to include all of the county by mid October and continuing through the remainder of the month.
