A SNOTEL site top west of the eastern entrance of Yellowstone Park reported 14 inches of new snow.
Wider weather episode
A second fast moving storm crossed Wyoming and brought heavy snow to the west and locally high wind to central Wyoming. The highest amount of snow recorded was 19 inches near the south entrance to Yellowstone Park. High wind and snow brought the closure of South Pass over the Wind River Mountains. The Natrona County Airport near Casper and the Lander Airport had wind gusts to 59 mph.
