A combination of heavy snow and winds gusting as high as 59 mph brought severe winter conditions to Yellowstone Park.

Lake Yellowstone had a record warm average temperature of 23.2 degrees, breaking the old record of 20.6 degrees in 2024. The period of record dates back to 1998.

Heavy snow brought slick roads to that resulted in over 30 traffic incidents and the closure of all roads in the Park. Two Ocean Plateau had the heaviest snow with 12 inches of accumulation.

Over 12 inches of new snow fell at Old Faithful and Snake River.

Up to 14 inches of new snow fell in Yellowstone Park.

Heavy snow fell though much of Yellowstone Park. The highest amount was 31 inches in the southwestern mountains of the park. Amounts were generally 12 to 18 inches in northern portions of the park.

At Old Faithful, 12 inches of new snow fell.

Low temperatures under 30 below zero were common. Some of the coldest temperatures included minus 47 at Grant Village and 44 below at the Thumb Divide SNOTEL site.

Over a foot of snow fell in the higher elevations of Yellowstone Park, with a maximum amount of 19 inches near the east entrance of the park.

A SNOTEL site reported 13 inches of new near the South Entrance to Yellowstone Park.

Temperatures well under 30 below in much of Yellowstone National Park. The lowest temperatures recorded was 45 below zero at Grant Village with the lowest wind chill of 53 below zero at Lake Yellowstone.

Snowfall amounts around much of Yellowstone ranged from 12 to 16 inches, including 13 inches at Old Faithful.

A SNOTEL site top west of the eastern entrance of Yellowstone Park reported 14 inches of new snow.

Record heat occurred at the Lake Yellowstone ASOS. Five consecutive days had high temperatures of 80 F or greater. On September 7th, a record high temperature of 83 degrees F broke the all time record high for September.

Heavy snow fell at the Parker Peak SNOTEL site where 24 inches of new snow was measured.

Widespread low temperatures of at least 20 below zero were reported in Yellowstone National Park. The lowest temperatures reported was 43 below zero at Grant Village.

Heavy snow fell in the higher elevations of Yellowstone National Park. The highest amount was 25 inches at the Two Ocean Plateau SNOTEL in the southeast corner of the park.

Well above normal temperatures occurred in Yellowstone Park. The highest temperature was 91 degrees at Mammoth Hot Springs on June 15th.

A measured 83 mph wind gust was recorded by the mesonet station UYDDX at 1 mile west of Grant Village in Yellowstone National Park.

Very cold temperatures occurred in Hot Springs County. The lowest temperature recorded was 2 below zero to the northeast of Thermopolis, Wyoming.

Heavy snow fell throughout Lander, Wyoming, with around 10 to 16 inches around the town and up 20 inches in the surrounding foothills. At the Lander, Wyoming, airport, 13.7 inches of new snow was measured.

A combination of snow and strong wind resulted in the closure of US 287.

Locally heavy snow occurred in southwestern portions of Yellowstone Park. The highest amount was 14 inches at the Lewis Lake Divide.

Very cold temperatures occurred in Yellowstone Park. Some of the coldest temperatures included minus 25 at the Old Faithful Ranger Station and minus 24 at the northeast Entrance. These low temperatures occurred on the morning of October 30th.

Heavy snow fell throughout much of Yellowstone Park. Some of the highest amounts included 39 inches at the Two Oceans Plateau SNOTEL and 36 inches at the Lewis Lake SNOTEL.

Much of Yellowstone Park received anywhere from 15 to 30 inches of new snow.
