Event narrative

Heavy snow brought slick roads to that resulted in over 30 traffic incidents and the closure of all roads in the Park. Two Ocean Plateau had the heaviest snow with 12 inches of accumulation.

Wider weather episode

A passing longwave trough and favorable upslope flow brought heavy snow to the western Wyoming mountains with up to around a foot of new accumulation for many ranges. In Yellowstone National Park, the snow produced icy roads and led to over 30 traffic incidents, resulting in the closure of all roads in the Park.
