Event narrative
Heavy snow fell in portions of Yellowstone Park, with a maximum of 16 inches in southwestern portions of the Park.
Wider weather episode
A weather system moved across Wyoming and brought heavy snow to portions of northern Wyoming. Some locations in northwestern mountains received 12 to 18 inches of new snow. In areas East of the Divide, an axis of heavier snow formed along a jet streak and brought locally heavy snow East of the Divide. Some locations around Dubois received around a foot of new snow with some locations in Big Horn County receiving 8 inches of snow. The heavy snow brought difficult driving conditions, especially over mountain passes.
