Snow fell across the Riverside County Mountains early in the morning on February 13. The Mt San Jacinto Long Valley Ranger Station at the top of the Palm Springs Tram reported 3 inches of snow at 8400 feet.
Wider weather episode
A closed upper low pressure system produced light to moderate rainfall, isolated thunderstorms and light snow in the mountains February 12 to 13, with most of the impacts felt in San Diego County. The heaviest and most widespread rain occurred from the coastal slopes towards the coast in San Diego County, where isolated lightning was observed. Also, light snow was reported in the mountains in San Diego County and Riverside County.
