Riverside County Mountains storm history

Hot temperatures occurred across the area with Idyllwild peaking at 104 degrees on June 16th. A female hiker died on the Pacific Crest Trail near Anza from heat stroke and another hiker was helicopter air lifted to hospital.

The Rock Fire near Anza burned 295 acres and destroyed 4 homes and 8 outbuildings. This fire led to evacuation orders for portions of the city of Anza. Damage amounts are estimated.

Bahrman wildfire burned 100 acres near SR 371 in Anza.

Nixon fire that started at 130 pm local on July 29 burned 5,200 acres through August 7th, 2024. This was just south if SR 371. The wildfire was reported as human caused at Tule Valley Road and Richard Nixon Boulevard, Aguanga California.

The Nixon wildfire started around 4 pm PDT on July 29. The fire burned up to 4000 acres and was just south of State Route 379 and east of Aguanga. At the onset the humidity was 14 percent with gusts to 22 mph.
