Event narrative

The Bonny Fire was reported the afternoon of July 27 near the 44000 block of Bonny Lane in Aguanga. The fire exhibited a critical rate of spread, reaching 225 across several hours after ignition, and up to 2,206 acres by the following evening. By the evening of July 31, the Bonny Fire was mapped at 2,305 acres and 30% containment. The fire burned until August 9, when 100% containment was achieved.

Multiple wildfires ignited in Riverside County on July 27. The Sunset Fire burned for one day and was quickly contained. The Bonny Fire burned through August 9 and consumed 2,322 acres.
