The Nixon wildfire started around 4 pm PDT on July 29. The fire burned up to 4000 acres and was just south of State Route 379 and east of Aguanga. At the onset the humidity was 14 percent with gusts to 22 mph.

Additional wildfires started in late July and the largest was the Nixon fire.
