Malad City, Preston, and Weston recorded -15 to -20 degree temperatures on the 30th with wind chills colder than 30 below zero. The Preston School Distyrict 201 had 2 hour delays due to the cold on the 30th and 31st.

Wider weather episode

Extremely cold temperatures combined with high winds to cause dangerously cold wind chills from the 29th through the 31st. Several schools closed on the 30th and 31st due to the cold.
