A peak wind gust of 74 mph was recorded at San Augustin Pass. Other gusts included 59 mph at the White Sands Missile Range Main Post and 58 mph at Condron Field.

A deep trough was moving across the Great Basin with strong southwest flow, including a 110 knot jet, across southern New Mexico. Winds across the region gusted up to 74 mph at San Augustin Pass.
