Event narrative

An estimated one to two tenths of an inch of ice accumulation from freezing rain occurred across much of Iron County early on the 5th.

Wider weather episode

A warm front lifting north from the Central Plains and Lower Great Lakes brought showers and thunderstorms across the area which turned to widespread freezing rain late from the 4th into the early morning of the 5th across west and central Upper Michigan.
