Wind chills lowered into the 25 below to 30 below zero range on the morning of the 3rd causing a two-hour delayed start to many schools throughout Iron County.

Wind chill readings were in the 25 below to 30 below range through much of the period.

Public report of 8 inches of snow in less than 12 hours at Ski Brule near Caspian. Schools were closed throughout Iron County on the 19th due to the storm.

The observer at Amasa measured 14.6 inches of lake enhanced snow during the event. Northwest winds gusting over 40 mph caused occasional whiteout conditions from the afternoon of the 23rd into the 24th.

Heat indices peaked at 102 degrees near Peavy Falls Dam during the early afternoon of the 18th.

Maximum heat indices were in the 95F to 100F range across the county on the afternoons of the 20th and 21st and stayed above 80F through the evening hours of the 20th.

Two large diameter spruce trees were snapped and uprooted in Caspian. This was a delayed report via social media. There was also a tree reported down over Youngs Avenue which was quickly removed by city officials.
