A Colorado low moved through the Upper Great Lakes on January 9th bringing wet snow to parts of the western and north central U.P. Over the eastern U.P. precipitation fell as rain with widespread amounts over 1.25 inches. This resulted in ponding of water on the roads in the Escanaba area. Snow amounts were generally in the 3 to 5 in range but as much as 9 inches was reported in Baraga County.
