Observers reported a widespread 3 to 5 inches of wet, heavy snow across the county over an approximate 12-hour period. The wet snow caused hazardous travel and closed schools throughout the county on the 3rd.

A powerful storm system tracking through the Great Lakes brought moderate to heavy wet snow and strong north to northeast winds to Upper Michigan from the evening of the 2nd into the morning of the 4th.
