The ASOS KHRI at the Hermiston Municipal Airport reported temperatures at to below freezing between 0305 to 0540 PDT on April 19th. The mesonet station ECHO reported temperatures at to below freezing between 0300 to 0515 PDT on April 19th.

Wider weather episode

A persistent negatively tilted trough over the PacNW conintued to usher in a cooler airmass in the region. The cooler air infiltrated the rest of the Basin and Blue Mountain foothills, resulting in at to below freezing temperatures in these areas in addition to the Yakima and Kittitas valleys.
