Event narrative

Six to 8 inches of snow was measured in the Inkom area with snow increasing rapidly to the north and west with a high measured total of 25.5 inches 7 miles northwest of Inkom off of Buckskin Road. Arbon Elementary School District 383 closed schools on the 4th as well as Rockland School District 382 due to the snow and wind causing hazardous travel.

Wider weather episode

A favorable pattern set up for extremely heavy snow in the Pocatello area where amounts of snow were generally in the 1 to 2 foot range throughout the metro area. Schools were closed and morning rush hour travel on the 4th was extremely difficult as blowing and drifting snow was also widespread.
