Broad quasi-stationary upper-level trough situated over western CONUS lingered for several days and led to persistent southwesterly flow aloft and daily showers and thunderstorms across portions of Southwest, Central, and North-central Montana, some of which were severe, producing strong gusty winds and significant hail.
