Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center reports a snowmobiler was caught in a natural avalanche near the Lionhead Recreation area. Individual was carried into trees by the avalanche.
KBZK-TV in Bozeman reported that the MT Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash on I-90 near mile marker 280, just east of Three Forks. Roadways were slick.
An avalanche occurred in the Portal Creek area just south of Bozeman, MT. One snowmobile fatality was reported.
An estimated wind gust to 60 mph blew a worker off the roof of the Federal Building in downtown Bozeman resulting in his death (direct fatality).
