Event narrative

Bryce Canyon National Park Rangers reported rock slides and deep mud along the Navajo Loop trail as a result of heavy rain in the area. This resulted in damage to retaining walls along the trail, and as such, the temporary closure of the trail.

Wider weather episode

An active pattern resulted in strong wind gusts in addition to isolated flash flooding to start the month of September.
