Wider weather episode
A low pressure system was centered over the Great Lakes region on June 12th, with an associated cold front extending to the south and west across northern Louisiana during the afternoon and evening hours. Strong westerly flow interacting with the hot and strongly unstable air mass ahead of the front was enough to sustain afternoon thunderstorms as they became severe across central and southern portions of Louisiana and produced scattered wind damage.
