Event narrative

Six to eight inches of snow fell around Del Muerto (8 miles E-NE of Chinle) at 6,400 feet. Six inches of snow fell in Chinle at 5,500 feet. Six inches of snow also fell in Many Farms at 5,300 feet elevation.

Wider weather episode

The first in a series of low pressure systems brought locally heavy snow to the mountains of far northeast Arizona November 29 to November 30.
