An area of low pressure moved into the Ohio Valley with a warm frontal band of snow moving through parts of western Virginia toward the Blue Ridge Mountains. Temperatures held at or just below freezing for several hours resulting in a quick three to six inches of snow in the Alleghenies. A general one to three inches fell in parts of the Shenandoah Valley toward the Blue Ridge. A trace to few hundredths of freezing rain was observed before precipitation transitioned to rain. Winds gusted to 40-50 mph.
