Event narrative

Snow and wind causing low visibility caused a multi-vehicle accident on US Highway 30 north of Grace at 240 PM MST. It caused the highway to be closed between Lava Hot Springs and Soda Springs. 50 to 60 mph wind gusts were widespread.

Wider weather episode

A cold front brought snow and strong winds with periods of significantly reduced visibility, heavy snow, and verified snow squalls. Some road closures also occurred due to the conditions.
