Snowfall totals across the area were generally 10 to 18 inches, slightly lower along the immediate lakeshore. Some specifics include; 19 inches in Altona, 17 inches in Dannemora and 11 inches in Peru.

A major storm across the Great Lakes remained nearly stationary during the afternoon of April 3rd as a coastal low developed off the NJ-DE that eventually moved to near Cape Cod, MA by midday April 4th.
Mixed rain, sleet and snow developed in the afternoon and evening hours of April 3rd and then transitioned to a heavy wet snow overnight through midday on April 4th. Snowfall totals ranged from 4 to 6 inches across St. Lawrence county to 10 to 18 inches across the higher terrain of the Champlain valley. Impacts were typical vehicle accidents but also some 3000+ customers lost power due to snow weighted trees on powerlines.
