A peak wind gust of 60 mph was recorded at 8:44 AM and 9:44 AM on May 7th at the King Coulee RAWS site (KIGM8).

Wider weather episode

A strong low pressure system moving to the south of the region, set up a steep pressure gradient that brought strong and gusty winds to portions of northeast Montana.
