Wind chills as low as -42 were observed at various stations across central Valley county. The coldest was at Mesonet station 2WSW Larslan (DVI08083 Larslan).

Snowfall totals of 4 to 10 inches fell across northern Valley County. The least amount fell at Fort Peck with the highest amount at a Cocorahs station 0.3N of Glasgow. 7.4 inches fell at a Cooperative observer 14 NW of Glasgow.

A wind chill of -40F was reported at 1NE of Saint Marie.

A wind gust to 51 mph occurred 11N Vandalia at 815 PM. NWS Employee said visibility was about 10 feet in blowing snow about 13ESE St. Marie at about 9 PM.

Rain that froze on cold ground helped cause accidents. A late afternoon accident blocked both lanes near Hinsdale and involved emergency vehicles. Another accident was reported at 11 miles east of Glasgow. No injuries were reported.

On the third week of October, D2-Severe drought spread into the eastern two thirds of central and southern Valley County. These conditions would remain the same through the end of the month.
