Event narrative

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service Office in Glasgow, measured 9.6 inches of snow, some of which easily compacted and melted on contact. Power outages and fallen tree limbs were also common in Glasgow. Additional trained spotter snowfall reports included 10 inches at 3E Vandalia and 13 inches at 4 SW Hinsdale.

Wider weather episode

Plentiful atmospheric moisture combined with a localized stationary front to bring a period of wet, heavy snow to portions of northeast Montana.
