Event narrative

Numerous tree limbs and several trees were blown down in Jefferson City. One light post was partially blown over. A few windows were blown out of the second story of a house.

Wider weather episode

During the night on May 6th, 2024, a line of severe thunderstorms moved across western Missouri and impacted the NWS St. Louis forecast area during the early morning of May 7th. While damaging straight-line wind was observed across parts of the region, three QLCS tornadoes were detected.
