Blizzard conditions developed during the morning hours of April 2nd at Wales (PAIW) and during the evening hours of April 2nd at Tin City (PATC). Wind gusts to 66 mph were reported at Wales and to 52 mph were reported at Tin City. These strong winds were accompanied by visibility in blowing snow of less than a quarter of a mile.

Wider weather episode

A fast-moving Bering front pushed across the West Coast, and produced widespread snow, blizzard conditions, and gale force winds from the Yukon Delta north to Norton Sound.
