Event narrative

Fire and rescue reported that TX36 was flooded and impassable at CR 414 and 412 with water rescues occurring SE of Hamilton. Flooded underpasses were also reported in Evant at US281 and US84 resulting in vehicle entrapment. Water over the bridge at CR182 was reported as well.

Wider weather episode

A shortwave trough and a cold front led to the development of scattered to numerous thunderstorms May 4 and 5. Heavy rain causing flash flooding was the main impact during these days. Unfortunately one flash flood fatality occurred in Johnson County.
