Event narrative

A tree was downed by thunderstorm winds on US 58 near Helton Creek Lane, and another tree was downed by thunderstorm winds near the intersection of Highland Parkway and Sturgills Road.

Wider weather episode

Isolated storms developed in the afternoon hours, and were mainly terrain driven from afternoon heating and strong destabilization. Very little upper level support helped to limit the coverage of severe storms. Steep lapse rates and low freezing levels resulted in storms producing large hail and localized damaging winds.
