Event narrative

The Jasper County 911 Center reported water over the intersection of FM 2799 and County Road 166. Several vehicles attempted to drive through and stalled. TXDOT closed the road.

Wider weather episode

A moist and unstable airmass interacted with upper disturbances that passed across the region during the first and second of the month. Isolated severe weather and flooding resulted from this interaction both afternoons.
