Large hail fell in and to the west of Jasper as a slow moving storm moved north toward Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Numerous vehicles and roof tops were damaged.

Harvey produced 20 to 40 inches of rain across a large portion of Jasper County. This resulted in over 4,000 homes being flooded. Worst hit areas were Kirbyville, Buna, and Weiss Bluff. The Neches River had its second highest crest at Evadale.

Hurricane Ike caused category 1 wind damage across southern Jasper County. Many trees and power lines were downed, some landing on homes and businesses.

A home was struck by lightning. The resulting fire consumed most of the structure.

The Jasper County 911 Center reported water over the intersection of FM 2799 and County Road 166. Several vehicles attempted to drive through and stalled. TXDOT closed the road.

A tree was blown down on the southbound lane of Highway 62 near Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Siding was blown off to the Cougar Stop convivence store in Buna.

Pin Oak Creek at South Elizabeth Avenue in Kirbyville rose above its banks flooding near by fields and roads. The stream rose 5 feet in 3 hours.

Significant flooding was reported across the county roads in Jasper County east of Town Bluff.

Multiple trees were blown down by a thunderstorm.

Several trees were blown down near Sam Rayburn.

Numerous streets were reported flooded around Jasper including FM 252 south of town and multiple county roads north of town.

Several streets in Jasper were flooded with Sandy Creek at South Fletcher Street closed due to the creek making the road impassable.

Flood waters closed Highway 96 in Kirbyville along with many other city streets. Brookshire Brothers grocery store flooded during the event with other nearby structures.

Over one foot of rain occurred around the Kirbyville area in a short period of time. Several feet of flood water inundated numerous homes. The local fire department conducted several high water rescues.

Numerous roads were closed across Jasper County including portions of Highway 96 and FM 1747, 1004, and 777. Water was greater than 2 feet deep on Highway 96.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Department reported hail in Kirbyville.

A stream gage on Long Branch measured water levels consistent with minor flooding.
