Event narrative

The Arkansas River in Caon City (CNCC2) fluctuated just above and below Minor Flood Stage for a couple days due to a combination of accelerated snowmelt runoff in the upper Arkansas River Basin and from sustained high flow releases from Turquoise Lake and Twin Lakes. The CNCC2 stream gauge recorded crests of 10.02 ft on two occasions from June 10 through 11.

Wider weather episode

Snowmelt runoff in the upper Arkansas (above Pueblo) and high flow releases from Pueblo Reservoir resulted in minor flooding at numerous forecast points along the Arkansas River.
