There were numerous reports of extensive flooding in the downtown area of Elizabeth City with multiple vehicles underwater. Road Street, Elizabeth Street and Riverside Avenue were impassable.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms along a frontal boundary produced heavy rain which caused flash flooding across portions of northeast North Carolina.
